Philmont Expedition 2008

Troop 10 received one of the sought after slots for a Philmont expedition for 2008. This 12 day backpacking trip starts on July 6, 2008.

Philmont is 200 square miles of rugged New Mexico wilderness outside of Cimarron. This high adventure Boy Scout ranch offers everything from rock climbing and fly fishing to black powder rifles and gold panning. During an average trek, the boys will carry a 30-40 lbs pack with all their personal and crew equipment. They will pick an itinerary which will include staffed camps with activities and backcountry camps.

Scouts must be 14 years old to attend and Philmont does not waiver on this requirement. Currently on the Troop 10 roster are: Zak Hall, Rudy Marquez III, Jacob Westley, James Spalsbury, Colin Golitko, Garrett Hurni, BJ Westley, Ben Van der Werf and Austin Ball. Leaders are Rudy Marquez and Greg Westley.
